Maharashtra Government Gazette Notification - Revision of workmen ceiling from 20 workmen to 50 workmen under Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) (Maharashtra Amendment) Act 2016

Dear All, Please find below Maharashtra Government Gazette Notification issued from Maharashtra State Government with notifying amendment in Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970, in its application to the State of Maharashtra. As per said notification this act may be called the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) (Maharashtra Amendment) Act, 2016 and in section 1 of the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970, in its application to the State of Maharashtra, in sub-section (4),— (a) in clause (a), for the words “twenty or more workmen” the words “ fifty or more workmen ” shall be substituted. To gist up, it can say that the ceiling limit of 20 workmen under Contract Labour Act has been now increased to 50 workmen. Kindly read full notification for further understanding. Dear All, Please find below Gazette notification dated 04 January 2017, issued by Ministry of Labour and Employment, India by making further amendment to Employees' Provident Funds Scheme, 1952. The amendment has been made in Paragraph 38 and 48 of Employees' Provident Funds Scheme, 1952 with the insertion of wordings i.e. after the words and letters "or through PayGov platform", the words " or through scheduled banks in India including private sector banks" .
